Day 3 ✅ Exploring Identity, Participation, and Belonging
Day 3 was dedicated to understanding youth participation and civic engagement from a regional, national, and European perspective. Through sharing experiences, debates, and creative activities, participants reflected on their roles within their communities and their connection to Europe as a shared cultural and political space.
🌍 You Are Not Alone:
Participants shared presentations about their regions, communities, and countries, focusing on:
Civil actions developed to engage youth.
Serious civil issues impacting their communities.
Regional and national policies related to youth participation.
Using various media (video, photos, flipcharts, Prezi, and more), participants highlighted best practices and challenges in civic engagement. The session provided valuable insights into the state of youth participation across regions, as well as current EU policies, strategies, and statistics supporting youth civic engagement.
📋 Me and My Country:
This session combined fun and learning as participants identified key figures, facts, and cultural symbols of their countries. The activity encouraged teamwork and creativity.
The River Debate followed, where participants engaged in discussions on controversial topics. Standing along a physical spectrum, they shared their views, listened to others, and had the opportunity to change their stance based on new arguments. This dynamic exercise fostered critical thinking, open-mindedness, and respectful dialogue.
🇪🇺 Our Common Europe:
In the afternoon, participants reflected on their sense of European identity. Divided into small groups, they created visual representations of "Europe" using flipcharts and markers. Each group included elements such as cultural symbols, values, landmarks, and events that symbolize European unity. Presentations allowed participants to share and discuss their perspectives on what connects Europe and its people, fostering a sense of belonging and collective identity.
🌟 Comfy Group Reflection:
The day ended with the Comfy Group, where participants reflected on their learning, highlights, and emotions from the day's activities. This reflective practice deepened their understanding and strengthened group cohesion.
✨ Final Thoughts:
Day 3 emphasized the importance of sharing experiences, understanding diverse perspectives, and building a shared sense of identity. Through interactive sessions and creative collaboration, participants explored how they can contribute to youth participation and strengthen connections across Europe.
